HOW TO APPLY FOR REGISTRATION

Applicants may apply for registration under the Optometrists Act 2002, the Mutual Recognition Act (NSW) 1992 or the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 (Commonwealth).

Applicants who are new graduates with recognised qualifications and applicants who are not registered in another State or Territory of Australia or New Zealand should apply under the Optometrists Act.

Applicants who are registered in another State or Territory of Australia should apply under mutual recognition.

Applicants who are not normally resident in New South Wales, and who seek registration for the purpose of carrying out educational or research activities, or such other activities as the Board may consider to be in the public interest, should apply for temporary registration.
